Dye Sublimation Printing

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Dye Sublimation is a computer-aided printing process that turns ink into a gaseous state for printing. The gaseous ink is absorbed into fabrics, the dye sublimation process works best with nylons and polyester materials.

Dye Sublimation Printing

EveryTees suggests using Dye Sublimation on non-cotton garments that require brilliant, detailed graphics. Dye sublimation is also a great choice for printing projects that need printing on uneven surfaces such as overlapping pockets or baseball cap rims.  We deliver quality every time.

The Dye Sublimation turnes ink into a gaseous state.

..What is Dye Sublimation?

Sublimation Dye Printing is a printing method that involves transferring artwork from a high release paper onto a garment.  The artwork is transferred to the garment using both heat and pressure.  The heat and pressure turn the ink into a gaseous state (sublimation) where the ink becomes embeds the ink into the fibers of the garment.

Unlike heat transfer printing, the sublimation dye process embeds the ink into the fibers which offer incredible durability without the rubbery texture of a heat transfer.

Because the ink is fused into the garment fabric, the look and feel of the printed area is consistent with the material being used.  The sublimation process properties also allow for the printing of vivid colors and patterns.

Unfortunately, the sublimation process can not be used on cotton based shirts and garments.  Suitable materials for garments are microfiber eyelets, microfiber interlock and mini mesh.

Sublimation dye printing works well with many types of garments including round neck t-shirts, V-neck t shirts, polo tees, singlets, and Muslimah.

How Does Sublimation Work?

The definition of sublimation means, “the transition from solid into a gaseous state”.  The dye sublimation printing process converts ink into a gaseous substance that is infused with a garment’s fibers.

The sublimation printing process requires sophisticated printing equipment that can accurately measure and apply the gaseous ink.  Such printing machines are used specifically for sublimation printing.  The gaseous ink is infused into a garments fiber and is allowed to cool.

The cooling temperatures converts the gaseous ink back into a solid where the fiber now takes on the color of the ink. The colored fiber keeps most of its original properties.

Sublimation printing leaves no rubbery or rough feeling residue.  A printed garment will feel smooth and natural.

Sublimation printing technology involves an extraordinary amount science.

Dye Sublimation PRINTING PROCESS

The Dye Sublimation process involves the use of sophisticated computer graphics and heat transfer technologies.

Design Preparation

Every Tees uses the latest graphic design software to create a mockup of your garment. The mockup will showcase the entire garment, logos and requested colors..

Heat Press Process

The images on the transfer papers are heated and pressed onto a garment with the help of a computer-controlled rotary heat press.

Sewing

The Dye Sublimation process can be used for the design of the entire garment. Such designs (i.e. sports uniforms) require sewing to connect the print patterns..

ADVANTAGES OF Dye Sublimation PRINTING

Dye Sublimation printing is an excellent choice for many printing projects, unfortunately the sublimation process does not work well with cotton-based clothing. The reason behind our statement is due to the fact that sublimation uses heat to turn printing ink into a gaseous state, the gas is then infused into the clothing fibers. The transfer of ink onto a substrate occurs at the molecular level, and cottons molecular structure repels the ink molecules.

No MInimum Orders

Dye Sublimation requires very little initial setup, as the image design is digitized by a computer application.

The computer will also measure and mix the dyes for the actual design image which will be created on a transfer paper and applied using heat transfer technology.

Dye Sublimation has no minimum orders, while offering a highly detailed, colorful print image.

Intricate Designs

Dye Sublimation printing uses some of the same ink-jet printing technologies that are used in today’s photographic printers.

The images created by the sublimation printers provide lots of exquisite details and fabulous colorations.

We recommend using Dye Sublimation when image details matter most.

Long Lasting Designs

Dye Sublimation printing lasts, a long, long time.  Its durability is due to the fact that the ink used for the design is infused into a garment’s fibers.  Everytees recommends using dye sublimation when you want a t shirt or company uniform to last a long time.

In addition to lasting a long time, dye sublimation also feels “soft”, and “natural”, because the ink is infused with the garment fibers and not on top of the fibers.

DISADVANTAGES OF Dye Sublimation PRINTING

Dye Sublimation printing produces some of the best prints available, unfortunately sublimation does not work well on cotton garments.

The Dye Sublimation process for printing on garments does not work well on cotton-based clothing. Unfortunately, the heat generated from the sublimation process (turn liquid into a gaseous state) affects the cotton fibers in a negative manner, where the ink can not be fully absorbed into the cotton fibers.
